Connect to a new culture by participating

One way to connect to a new culture is by participating. Kids know this. After working for over five years as a teaching artist in schools, I learned that each classroom has its unique culture.

I have been a resident teaching artist at the Overture Center and in various local schools. I have organized several Day of the Dead events in the community where we share our traditions, stories, and art with families.

Dia de Los Muertos and Dia de Los Niños (Day of the Child) are important Latino cultural events that directly reflect our values for our dead and for our family.

When was the last time you connected with culture? We would love to highlight your answer next month, so message us!
